Here's how we got into it. Changes in the web over the last six months allow smaller regional business to finally make big headway on the Internet.

I was approached by the head of a prominent legal firm in CT whose website was doing little more than costing him money. He felt it was hardly worth keeping. I detailed the steps we take to effectively market sites including: search engine keyword research, local search and ad opportunities, usability testing techniques and landing page optimization methodology and more until his eyes glazed over.

He stopped me and said: "Todd, couldn't you guys just take over managing it? I would rather hire you to get the site profitable right now. I want to be able call you with questions, tell you any changes I'd like to make and know that it is being taken care of. I already have a developer but we need your team's marketing expertise. Just do what you do and get it working for us."

He wanted someone who could make the site perform. Seemed like a good idea but what would it cost?

Our team members had been doing web marketing work on large sites and small and offering these services on a project basis for a combined 40 years. We had the training, had the best tools and software, earned certifications, and had the customers to support our claims. We are at the top of our game in our particular disciplines of Search Engine Marketing, Usability/ conversion work and Adwords campaigns. If site work is needed we get it done either with your developer or our own.

Time after time in the past, we saw sites that lacked the consistent effort necessary to maintain: good rankings, effective usability, and productive lead generation.

These sites had:
Adword campaigns erode (or never get started),
Search engine rankings drop as new algorithms or competitors appear,
Newsletters would run for a couple of months and fade out,
Email lists got outdated
or weren't exploited.
Links break over time or functionality suffered as browsers improved.
Sites were no longer able to persuade visitors to sign up or buy.
More and more competitors with in house marketing teams were getting smarter and dominating the niche markets.

Sites need regular maintenance. Hiring consultants to come in and fix one thing at a time is expensive and is not strategic.

If you build traffic without converting customers, you are just planting seeds in your neighbor's garden. Alternatively, great usability with no visitors doesn't help either.

Today's web marketing requires mastery of a wide range of skills - optimizing the user experience, understanding and exploiting Local Search opportunities and building AdWord campaigns which generate a measurable return on investment. The required skill list also includes: video, integration with print campaigns, newsletters, email, podcasting, web PR and even more. Areas we've been doing for years.

Even we couldn't even do it all with one person. There is just too much to know and the web is evolving every day. Even if you could find the right person, they would demand a six figure salary and they would still need help.

It's a chicken and egg thing, you need the business but can't justify the spend.

We had found the solution. Even a small company could afford it and still allow us to earn what we needed. For more pricing information see our pricing page (there is no fine print we discuss other options).

It takes us at least 50 hours of work to get a modest site persuasive, optimize it for the search engines, do the keyword research and build the ad and marketing campaigns. (actually it takes more, have a look if you wish but I don't want your eyes to glaze over like our lawyer friend).

With the first steps accomplished, the site will begin to really generate business. The organic search rankings improve over time, the Adwords campaigns begin and business grows. From this new platform we expand the outreach tools in an affordable manner based upon new profits. Consistent expertise pays off. Building upon success, we test refine and improve ongoing tools while we explore new opportunities.

We average 10-15 hours per month improving and maintaining the site. We get to know your business thoroughly. Some months we concentrate more on SEO or AdWords, other months PR or the user experience but we monitor and work on essential areas every month. We have great tools which give us advantages in productivity and results. It is a mistake to compare 15 hours of work with our tools and expertise to the efforts of someone in house doing their best. You receive regular progress reports. See a detailed sample statement of work

It had to work for both sides financially. For the average small business site, we could do it for $1,000 per month. To get the site right initially, we needed an initial one time fee of $5000 for the first month. This would cover the 50 hours of up front work necessary. We also knew we could spread some of the work out over time. The customer needed to be earning money ASAP.

The Lawyer was thrilled and said, sign us up!

He knew there is benefit for business owner to have experts available, who understand his business and are staying on top of all new developments. He wanted to be able to see exactly how the site is doing at any time and know that zero dollars of web effort are being wasted.

The leads and results come when marketing is done strategically and consistently.

We can start working right away. If you are interested please contact us now while you are thinking of it.
